Artist Bio

Autumn Bannon is an 18-year old New York City based artist. She recently graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan, and currently attends Pratt Institute as a Painting Major. Bannon primarily works in oil, but has a deep passion and fascination with various forms of mixed media. Her art explores the crossroads of beauty and chaos, often combining figurative realism and symbolic abstraction. She focuses on the weight of memory and the blurred lines of tenderness and discomfort. She embraces imperfection and decay as essential components of her visual language. Bannon uses distortion, intimacy, and layered textures to disrupt realism and allow her subjects to exist in dream-like environments that reflect the instability of identity and the self.
